THACKERVILLE - The Southeastern Oklahoma State men's golf team did not face a long trip, but did square off against some tough competition en route to a seventh place finish at the Red River Intercollegiate at the par-72 WinStar Golf Course in Thackerville.

The Savage Storm is coming off its first tourney win in division II play in the weather-shortened Crawford Wade Invite at Pottsboro, Texas, one week ago.

This week, however, found the going to be a little rougher with the Storm finishing 32 strokes off the lead.

Mack Hamilton posted the top finish with a three-over 219 that was good for a tied for 10th finish.

Brad Aycock finished tied for 20th after posting a 223, but did finish the tournament with the Storm's low-round on the event with a 69 in the second round.

Jordan Sullivan carded a 226 to finish tied for 29th, with Boston Brittain right behind at 229 and tied for 33rd.

Josh Hobbs finished in 53rd after turning in a three-round 238.

Northeastern State took the title with a blistering, one-over-par 865, finishing 10 strokes ahead of Midwestern State.

Cameron finished third, followed by Texas A&M-Commerce, Missouri Southern State and Southwestern Oklahoma State.

Southeastern will be back in action on March 24-25 when it travels to Edmond for the UCO/Kickingbird Classic.
