Clarence “Shorty” Monroe Miller, 82, of Yuba, passed away Tuesday night, March 25, 2008, at Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas.

He was born January 25, 1926, in Pickton, Texas, and was the son of the late Thomas Allen and Jewell Gillen Miller.

He attended Yuba schools and married Juanita Hamby. He was a cheese maker for Kraft in Bonham for many years and was a farm equipment mechanic. He was a lifelong Yuba resident and had farmed and ranched the Diamond S Ranch for the past 36 years.

He was preceded in death by two children, Patricia Ann Southerland and Vernice Monroe Miller, a grandson, Allen Monroe Miller, four brothers and three sisters. Shorty is survived by his wife of 64 years, Juanita Hamby Miller of the home in Yuba, six grandchildren, Austin, Joshua, Jacob, Avery, Kyle and Sarah, and three great-grandchildren, Mickel, Larry and Ronald.

Graveside services for Clarence “Shorty” Miller were held at 10 a.m. today at the Rosewood Cemetery in Achille with Joyce Hamby officiating.

Arrangements were entrusted to Cunningham Funeral Home in Colbert.
