Rena Loyd, 96, of Calera, passed away Saturday, March 29, 2008, at the Medical Center of Southeastern Oklahoma. She was born May 11, 1911, in Temple, Oklahoma to D.M. and Mary (Hilliard) King.

Rena married Claud H. Loyd on December 24, 1931. They owned and operated Loyd’s Implements. They were also active in farming and ranching until retirement. She also enjoyed quilting, gardening, traveling, and crafts. Rena was a member of the First Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Claud Loyd; granddaughter, Kimberly Loyd; daughter-in-law, Darlene Loyd; son-in-law, Bill Dunn as well as nine sisters and six brothers.

Survivors include: daughters, Wilma and John Gecks of Durant, Oklahoma; Barbara and Bob Whatley of Calera, Oklahoma; Sandra and Jim Dunegan of Durant, Oklahoma; sons, Claudie and Gwen Loyd of Combine, Texas; Clyde and Louellen Loyd of Corinth, Texas; grandsons, Ricky and Andrea Dunn of Mead, Oklahoma; Donald and Brenda Loyd of Combine, Texas; Jeff and Julie Loyd of Aubrey, Texas; Richard Loyd of Corinth, Texas; granddaughters, Doretha and Larry Partain of Durant, Oklahoma; Claudia Loyd of Durant, Oklahoma;, Diane and Pat Giannini of Durant, Oklahoma; Tammy Dunegan of Calera, Oklahoma; 8 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Dalton-Holmes Chapel in Durant, Oklahoma with Rev. Charles Loyd officiating. Pallbearers include: Pat Giannini, Jason Downs, Bryan Downs, Larry Partain, Jeff Loyd, Brad Jackson, Tra Williams. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery in Durant.

Family Hour will be tonight from 7-8 p.m. at Dalton-Holmes Funeral Home.
