Track&Field

Regional sites for Track&Field meets were released by the OSSAA Thursday, and the Durant Multi-Sports Complex was named host for one of the two West Regionals for Class 6A and 5A.

Class 6A teams will be Del City, Lawton Eisenhower, Moore, Mustang, Norman, Putnam City, U.S. Grant and Yukon. Class 5A teams will be Ada, Ardmore, Capitol Hill, Chickasha, Duncan, Durant, Lawton MacArthur and Western Heights.

The meet will be held May 3.

Assignments for other local schools, include Class 2A Calera and Class A Caddo at Velma-Alma

The Class 2A-A Regional Meet will be held April 26.

The Class 6A-5A State Meet will be held at Ardmore May 9-10, and the Class 2A-A State Meet will be held at Mustang May 2-3.

The Rock Creek Lady Mustangs allowed just two runs over the course of three games on their way to a district title Thursday.

Caddo opened with a 3-0 win over Achille, before Rock Creek ended Achille’s season with a 6-0 shutout.

Rock Creek won the finals opener, 3-2, over Caddo before finishing with a 5-0 win in the nightcap.

In the win over Achille, Whitney Phillips led the offense, batting 2-for-4 with an RBI. Chrissy Dill recorded the win on the mound and went 1-for-4 with an RBI, while Taylor Robinson added a single and Hampton was 1-for-3 with an RBI.

In the win over Rock Creek, Caddo’s Kelsey Packwood was 3-for-4, while Deana Hudson added an RBI and a single, and Broughton was 1-for-3.

Brandy Simmons led Rock Creek, batting 2-for-3. Phillips provided an RBI and single and Mitchell singled.

In the nightcap, Taylor Boyd was 1-for-2 with a single, while Feltman and Hampton provided singles and RBIs. Phillips also finished 1-for-3.
