A meeting was held Friday morning on the Court House lawn to announce the upcoming events of this years 12th annual Magnolia Festival.

City Manager James Dunegan announced he will be serving as this year’s festival director.

The Magnolia Festival has something for everyone, an event or interest for every age.

Some of the events scheduled for this year’s Magnolia Festival include a gospel night with performances by the New Plainsmen Quartet, art shows in the Massey Building downtown, a miniature quilt show, an antique tent, downtown walking tours, children’s parades and events, Magnolia bicycle tours and performance by Pate McEntire and Jason Meadows.

The Magnolia Festival also hosts its annual events every year, such as the Choctaw Nation Princess Pageant, Belle and Beau ceremonies and a carnival for the whole family.

This year, the Magnolia Festival is proud to host the KLBC/KSEO Country Showdown at the Choctaw Stage and Market Square and the Main Street Country Showcase at the Choctaw Stage.
