Lee attended and graduated from Valley Springs, AR and worked as a truck driver as a civilian employee of the military. He moved to Bryan County in 1973 from Oklahoma City and later married Eula Robinson who preceded him in death. Lee was a member of the Streetman Road Baptist Church in Mead and he enjoyed gardening, building different things and working on cars and trucks.
Lee was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brother George Albert Sands; grandsons Roy Garvin and Robert Lee Sands and great grandson William Harris. Lee is survived by his son Charles David Sands and wife Patricia of Cartwright; daughter Barbara Garvin and husband David of Denison; daughter Angela Gandy and husband Hal of Springdale, AR; grandchildren Brandy Conejo/Subias and husband Antonio of Cartwright, Sarree Harris and husband Jody of Hope, AR and LaShawnda Glenn and husband Nathan of Denison; great grandchildren Alexia and Justin Hiberd and Marshall and Cheyenne Harris; and numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
Services will be held on Monday, February 28th at 10:00 AM at Streetman Road Baptist Church. Rev. Darren Wallace will officiate. Interment will follow in Mead Cemetery with Nathan Glenn, Marty Oglesbee, Tony Conejo/Subias, Jody Harris, Clyde Lafoon and Cody Horn serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Sunday from 7-9 PM.
