Veva Sue Harris, 67, of Durant, went to be with the Lord on the evening of Tuesday, July 1, at Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 7, at 10:00 am at Bible Baptist Church in Durant. Pastor Mark Wesley will officiate.

Veva Sue was born on July 27, 1940 in Durant to Sam E. and Gertrude (Thomas) Treadgill. She attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University for three years. Veva Sue married Donal A. Harris on December 4, 1965 at Calvary Baptist Church. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and homemaker for almost 43 years. She loved reading her Bible, doing crossword puzzles, and was a passionate quilter. Veva Sue will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Cletus, Calvin, and Frances Threadgill.

Veva Sue is survived by her loving husband, Don, of the home; three sons, Mike and wife Mary of Durant, Mark and wife Shana of McAllen, TX, and David and wife Sarah of Keota, OK; and eight grandchildren, Zachary, Parker, Mickayla, Michael, Lily, Samuel, Laura, and Soria.

Family hour will be held on Saturday, July 5, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel in Durant.

Pallbearers will be Larry Harris, Stacy Harris, James Belcher, Keith Mills, Darrin Gainer, and Rick Vandenberg.

Music will be provided by the Wesley Trio, Daniel Wesley, and Lacey Wesley.

Interment will be in the Highland Cemetery, Durant.
