DURANT — The contents of a Dumpster burned at a local funeral home on Thursday.

Firefighters were dispatched at 6:56 p.m. to Brown’s Funeral Home on West Highway 70. When they arrived three minutes later, they quickly hosed down the fire.

There was no damage. The cause of the fire was not known, according to a fire department report.

Firefighters responded to a gasoline spill at 6:44 this morning at the Choctaw Travel Plaza. Five gallons of fuel spilled and firefighters cleaned it up.

At 12:18 this morning, firefighters were dispatched to a smoke alarm at an apartment on Gerlach Drive. When they arrived, they learned that the alarm was coming from an apartment that burned earlier this month and that it was a false alarm.
