Other Blue River Conference schools making an appearance at the state tournament this year were Bennington and Silo.
Bennington placed third in this year’s Class A competition.
In 2003, Rock Creek won its first state championship followed by another first place trophy in 2004 and two more in 2006 and 2010. This year, Rock Creek stayed on top the entire tournament, defeating Haileyville, Preston, and Sentinel twice to bring home the first place trophy.
Seniors Danielle Wilcox, Herlinda Marsh, Bradley Robinson and team captain Rae Anne Klement have been members of a Rock Creek Academic Team for six years. Other team members include juniors Tracey Hickman and Brandon Wilcox.
