Wanda Lee “Cherri” Loper Dohlen passed away May 5, 2011. Services were May 19, 2011, at the American Lutheran Church in Norway. She was born to Dewey and Gladys (Fry) Loper. She attended Durant Public Schools, graduated Russell High School, OBU-Shawnee, and Baylor University in Waco, TX. She was a prolific writer, Wanda wrote several books, including a book of poetry. Wanda married Knut Dohlen on July 31, 1957. They lived in Oakland, CA, Ethiopia and Norway. She is survived by her husband, Knut, daughter, Linda and husband Reider Hamsund, son, Erick and wife Kristen. Grandchildren, Andreas, Marius Hamsund, and Kristoffer, Thomas, and Daniel Dohlen. Brother Robert Loper of Geneva, FL, Joyce Gadis of Lincoln, NE. Brother-in-law Coy Motley of Sherman, TX. Five nephews and one aunt, Lola Bell Northcutt in Reno, Nevada. Cousin of Bobbie Alley Curtis of Durant.She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Phylis Motley and nephew David Loper.
