First United Bank employees recently raised money to purchase fans for the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) Fan Drive. Each year fans are made available for senior citizens in need.

According to Kari Walker, who headed up the fan drive for First United, with Wal-Mart’s donation of $100, the bank was able to purchase 53 fans. “This is our second year to participate in the fan drive,” said Walker. “It has been extra hot this year so the need for fans has been great,” Walker added.

Fans are available at the RSVP Center for senior citizens in Bryan County who need them. Contact the Bryan County RSVP office at 924-3659 for more information about receiving a fan or making a donation.
