Services for Edger McCleary, 94, of Bennington, who passed away Monday, September 26, 2011, at the Medical Center of Southeastern Oklahoma will be held Wednesday, September 28, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel at Brown’s Funeral Service. Rev. Wanda Ainsworth will officiate.

Edger was born September 19, 1917, in Monkstown, Texas, to Thomas and JoAnna (Crittenden) McCleary. He attended school in Mayfield, Texas.

Edger married Marie Stephens on December 12, 1936, in Bonham, Texas, and moved to the Bryan county area in 1939. Edger enjoyed his life’s work of farming, ranching, spending time with family and friends, gardening and attending church.

Edger was a member of the Midland Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Edger was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and JoAnna McCleary, his wife Marie, and two great-grandchildren, Crystal Harrelson and Cody Herman.

Survivors include his daughter, Joanie Harrelson and husband Ray of Durant/Bennington; grandson, Dale Harrelson and wife Leah of Bennington;

granddaughter, Shannon Herman and husband David of Durant. Great-grandchildren,

Callie and Tanner Herman of Durant, and Ryan Harrelson, Ashten Belvin and Nicholas Kuykendall, of Bennington, very dear friends, Bob and Helen Metcalf of Durant, Anthony and Della Kinnett of Frisco, Texas, and other relatives and a host of friends.

Interment will be in Highland Cemetery with Steve Robinson, Ralph Wells, Bob Metcalf, Bruce Calhoun, Gary Lawson and Royce Allen serving as pallbearers.

No family hour is scheduled, the funeral home will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. today for viewing.
