DURANT, Okla. - Southeastern will put its two-game Great American Conference winning streak on the line when it hosts Henderson State in the conference home opener on Jan. 12 at 5:30 p.m. in Bloomer Sullivan Arena.

The Savage Storm enter the first home weekend of action in 2012 at 6-6, but winners of two-straight after snapping a brutal four-game losing skid that featured back-to-back meetings against a nationally-ranked squad.

The Reddies come to Durant with a 9-3 mark on the year and is the only other GAC school off to a 2-0 start, which will give the winner of Thursday's contest a jumpstart for the remainder of the league slate.

SE will follow Thursday's contest with a 5:30 p.m. meeting on Jan. 14 against Ouachita Baptist, also in Bloomer Sullivan Arena.

OBU, picked just ahead of the Storm in the preseason poll, come into the weekend at 8-4 overall and 1-1 in league play.

Southeastern will be looking to Whitney Coffey to continue her scoring ways as the senior is averaging 13.0 ppg and coming off a weekend in which she sunk the game-winning bucket in a 65-64 victory over Arkansas-Monticello.

Joining her in double figures is Nikki Nester who is averaging 10.5 ppg, while reigning GAC Player of the Week Ashley Hobbs averaged 19.0 ppg last week and has raised her scoring average to 9.5 ppg.

Hobbs has handled the rebounding duties, leading the club with 6.3 rpg as SE has stepped up its efforts in corralling missed shots, narrowing its rebounding deficit with opponents to just 2.0 per game.

Nester and Bailey Welch have combined to average 8.4 assists per game, with Nester holding a slight edge with 51 helpers on the season to Welch's 50.
