On Monday, the Bryan County Commissioners held a special meeting to discuss a request from Rural Water District #2 for sponsorship of fiscal year 2012 CDBG grant for Water System Improvement project serving Bryan County Rural Water District #2. After much discussion, the commissioners voted not to sponsor this grant in lieu of a grant from Chickasaw nation for Silo Road. District #2 Commissioner Tony Simmons said he would agree on the stipulation that Rural Water District #2 would be “next to receive a grant through Bryan County after this year.” Commissioner Monty Montgomery and Commissioner Jay Perry both agreed with Simmons.
The commissioners also approved a resolution for eight year BRO/BRF funded projects for Bryan County and a right-of-way agreement with Oklahoma Department of Transportation for Leavenworth Trail in Bryan County.
Near the end of the meeting, the commissioners entered into an executive session with the district attorney to discuss pending litigations with the Oklahoma Department of Corrections.
