Marris, a native of The Colony, Texas, recorded 11 strikeouts and gave up only one hit and three walks throughout the first five innings of Southeastern’s first season-opening shutout since 2002.
The Storm won that opener 7-0, with Levi Lewis tossing the final two innings to hold on to the shutout.
The Savage Storm went 3-0 against Lincoln this past weekend, also recording 6-5 and 10-0 victories.
Southeastern will be back in action when they hit the road for the Texas-Permian Basin Classic, facing Incarnate Word at 10:30 a.m. on Feb 11.
