Lady Mustangs fall to Lady Bruins

BOKCHITO – Tobi Miller scored 36 points on Thursday afternoon as the Caddo Lady Bruins defeated the Rock Creek Lady Mustangs 61-45.

The victory keeps the Lady Bruins in playoff contention while eliminating the Lady Mustangs from the regional tournament.

Lou Pilkilton contributed to the Caddo win with 7 points. Ricki Braziell and Caroline Jones both finished with 6 points.

The Lady Mustangs finished with three players in double figures. Halie Heflin led the way with 12 points. Jade Graham finished with 11 points and Adree Young chipped in 10 points.

The Lady Bruins finished the opening quarter on a 5-0 run to take an 18-8 lead. Miller scored 12 of her 36 points in the first eight minutes.

The Lady Bruins maintained the lead in the second quarter with three-pointers from Pilkilton and Shelby Dellinger. Heflin sank a jumper in the closing seconds for the Lady Mustangs to make it 30-20 at the half.

The Lady Bruins outscored Rock Creek 17-12 in the third quarter to pull away. Miller had another productive quarter with 14 points.

The Lady Bruins tacked on 14 more points in the fourth quarter with most of the scoring coming from the free-throw line.

The Lady Bruins now advance to another elimination contest where they will await the loser of the Latta v. Silo game.
