Worthy, a center from Montebello, Calif., walked away with the first-ever Freshman of the Year honors in the GAC, while Downing, a guard from Yuma, Ariz., earned honorable mention all-conference.
Worthy averaged 5.2 ppg on the year, but shot a very efficient 63.2 percent from the floor.
His real strength came on the defensive end, pulling down a modest 3.8 rebounds per game in an average of 16.0 minutes per outing, but he led the team with 40 blocks on the year.
Downing was the top scorer for the Storm in the regular season at 12.7 ppg, hitting 38.8 percent from the floor and 37.6 percent from three point range, hitting 71 threes on the season.
He also dished out 45 assists, snagged 27 steals and shot 80.6 percent from the free throw line, hitting 58-of-72.
Southeastern will open play in the GAC tournament at 8:30 p.m. on March 1 when it faces No. 4 seed Ouachita Baptist.
