On Monday, the Durant ISD Board of Education met during a special meeting to discuss, consider and vote to approve or not approve a retirement incentive plan for certain district certified personnel. Superintendent of Durant Schools, Dr. Jason Simeroth, said the board approved this plan two years ago. To be qualified for the plan, Simeroth said the employee must have worked a consecutive seven years for the district and must be eligible for the Oklahoma Teachers Retirement System. The board unanimously approved the retirement incentive plan.
