Services for Crystal Lea Gibby, 44, of Colbert, who passed away Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2009, in Wilson-N-Jones, Sherman, Texas, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church in Colbert. Revs. Ronnie Harris and Roy Vinson will officiate.

Crystal was born Feb. 27, 1964, in Arlington, Texas, to Thurman “Ed” and Charlotte (Rice) Cole. She married Kevin Gibby on Nov. 28, 1986, in Colbert.

Mrs. Gibby was a member of the First Baptist Church in Colbert. Crystal graduated from Colbert High School in 1982. She then attended Southeastern and Grayson College. She worked for Knights Furniture in Sherman, Texas, and Conway in Denison, Texas. She was a teacher’s aide in pre-K at Terrell Elementary in Denison. She loved spending time with her children and family, fishing, camping and snow skiing. She also enjoyed helping with the bike-a-thon in Colbert for St. Jude’s Children Hospital.

Crystal was preceded in death by her father on Dec. 23, 2007.

She is survived by her mother, husband, son Joshua Gibby, daughter Lindsey Gibby, brothers Charles “Ed” Cole and Craig Cole, all of Colbert, and numerous other family members and a host of friends.

Interment will be at the Garden of Memories in Colbert. Pallbearers will be David Gibby, Bobby Gibby, Weldon Gibby, Phillip McKinney, Buck Wilson and Ronny Gibby. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Hopkins and Shane Corbett.

Family hour is today from 7-8 p.m. at Coffey-Murray Funeral Home.

The family suggests memorials be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905.
