All Democratic candidates for Bryan County Offices have been invited to speak at the June 19 meeting of the Bryan County Federation of Democratic Women, according to program chair Wyota Hannan.

The candidates for Sheriff are Roy Brown, John Bates, and Ken Golden; and for Commissioner District 2, Tony Simmons and Chad White. Tammy Reynolds is the only Democratic candidate for County Clerk, and Jerry Tomlinson, the only candidate for State Representative of District 21.

Unchallenged incumbents will not appear: Sandy Stroud for County Court Clerk and R.C. Pruett for State Representative District 19, which includes a small section of northwestern Bryan County. There are Republican candidates for County Sheriff, County Clerk, and Representative District 21.

Each candidate has seven minutes to talk. Hannan, who is arranging and hosting the appearances, says, “I am so glad that we are able as a Federated Club to host them for a meeting and have a chance to invite them especially for their upcoming elections the following week. It just wouldn’t seem right to me if we didn’t do something for them.”

The primary elections are Tuesday, June 26. If necessary, run-offs will be held August 28.
