Hazel Marie Lasiter was born December 15, 1933 in Minco, Oklahoma to Clyde and Sarah Ann (Gill) Boyd and passed away on June 13, 2012 in Sherman, Texas at the age of 78.
Hazel graduated from Central High School in Oklahoma City and later married George Lasiter in 1955 and they spent 55 years together until George’s death in January of 2010.Hazel was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to the many people she came in contact with. Hazel moved to Bryan County in February 2010 from Marshall County. She was of the Baptist faith and she enjoyed painting, gardening and her family and friends.
Hazel was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
Hazel is survived by her son Mark Lasiter and wife Tonia of Kingston, OK; sister Edith Lumpkin of Richmond, Virginia; brother Lovis Lee Boyd of Rohnert Park, California; grandchildren Lyle and Heather Miller and great grandchildren Lylah, Madison and Hailee.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, June 23, 2012 at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel. Durant Police Department Chaplain LaWanda Mabery “Chappy” will officiate.
