Charlie Leroy Phillips, 75, of Caney, Okahoma passed away Monday June 18, 2012 at his home. He was born October 31, 1936 in Caddo, Oklahoma to William Edgar and Minnie Lee Smallwood Phillips. He was a Caddo High School graduate and was a longtime member of Caney Freewill Baptist Church for he has lived in Caney the past 26 years. He was a Tax Assessor in Oklahoma City for over 20 years. He loved working in his garden and flowers. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Sisters Helen Phillips, Thelma Whisenhunt, Lila Mae Lassiter, Dortha Houser, Eula Bagby, Mary Beulah Willie, and Wanda Wright. Brothers Buster Phillips, John Preston Phillips, W.E. Phillips. Surviving is One Brother Dewey “Dew” Phillips and One Sister Pansy Bagby both of Caddo. Numerous Nieces and Nephews also survive. Funeral Services for Charlie Phillips will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday afternoon June 21, 2012 at Caney Freewill Baptist Church with Reverends Brett Doyle and Leon Crites officiating. Burial will follow in the Gethsemane Cemetery in Caddo. Nephews will serve as Pallbearers. Family night will be from 6-7 Wednesday evening at Cunningham Funeral Home in Caddo. Arrangements have been entrusted to Cunningham Funeral Home in Caddo.
