Billie Mae Maupin was born on July 28, 1934 in Pecan Gap, Texas to William Carl and Edna Mae (Ainsworth) Melton and entered into eternal rest on June 23, 2012 in Colbert, Oklahoma at the age of 77 years.
Billie moved to Bryan County in 1947 and later married Aldon Floyd Maupin in Denison, Texas on November 27, 1948. She worked as a café manager in the public school system until her retirement. She was of the Nazarene faith and she enjoyed playing bingo, yard sales, family reunions, being with family and friends and feeding all the little children.
Billie was preceded in death by her parents; son Aldon Eugene Maupin; daughter Patricia Kay Michel and brother Gaylon Melton.
Billie is survived by her husband of 64 years Aldon Floyd Maupin of the home; daughters Carolyn Beshirs and husband Geary of Durant, Margaret Shadden of Durant and Michelle Thompson of Platter; adopted daughter Lisa Laymon of Platter; grandchildren Robert Shane, James Alton, Jeremy Floyd, Geary Wayne, Lacey Ann, Aaron Van and Lyncara Ana; great grandchildren Ashley Elaine, Alton Ryan, Randen Gibson, Shaley Gibson, Kaden Gibson, Kelly Gibson ll, and Angelina Thompson and great great grandchild K’lei Dawn.
Services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel. Interment will follow in Highland Cemetery with Johnny Varner, Rusty Giesler, Rodney Buchanan, Chris Northcott and Jimmy Gatlin serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons Geary Beshirs, Aaron Thompson and Alton Laymon. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Tuesday from 6-8 PM.
