It is with great sadness that the family of Weldon Leon Vines announces his passing. Weldon lost his battle to cancer on Sunday, June 24, 2012 at the age of 61. He passed peacefully at home.
He was born January 10, 1951, in Dallas, Texas. His interest included spending time with his family and friends, yard work, swimming, decorating, volunteering and enjoying life. He devoted much of his time and energy taking care of his family and friends. Over his lifetime, he volunteered with several different organizations. He was not happy unless he could help someone else smile.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Adelene “Ann” Saunders.
Weldon is survived by his partner, Lewis Ritter; his daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Todd Allison, grandchildren Josh and Kara, great-granddaughter Lilly and great-grandsons Paul, Jacob, and Aiden; his father and stepmother, Joe and Jettie Vines; his brothers, Mike Vines, Billy Vines, Tim Vines, Kenneth Luster and Seth Luster; and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Weldon’s life will be held Saturday, June 30th at Waldo Funeral Home in Sherman, Texas. Visitation with the family will start at 1pm. There will be a short service at 2pm with Rev. Lander Bethel officiating .
