Durant firefighters responded to an explosion in a camper trailer at 7:43 a.m. Thursday, but the cause of the explosion remains a mystery.

The explosion occurred in the 1000 block of East Main Street. Resident Shannon Kinnamon, 45, told emergency responders that he was thrown out of the trailer as a result of the explosion.

He landed an estimated 15 feet away from the trailer in a nearby ditch. He was treated at the scene for leg pain.

Durant firefighters were dispatched to a grass fire shortly after 3 p.m. Thursday on North Roberta Road. The Roberta Fire Department requested the assistance of a DFD brush truck, and the fire was out before 4 p.m.
