Michael Bennett Wyatt, a resident of Durant, Oklahoma, passed away on Thursday, June 28, 2012 at the age of 67 years 11 months and 4 days.

He was born in Durant, Oklahoma to Tyrone B. and Clora Irene (Miller) Wyatt on Monday, July 24, 1944.

Mike married his childhood sweetheart, Sheron Mackey, in Dallas, Texas on Friday, August 5, 1994. Mike was raised in Durant, Oklahoma and attended the Durant Public Schools. He graduated from High School and went on to attend and graduate from Southeastern Oklahoma State University with a degree in Business.

Mike had a lifetime career working for the Campbell Soup Corporation. He worked in Paris, Texas, Colorado and finally Los Angeles, California, where he retired from the company.

Mike was an avid tennis player and fierce competitor. He and his sister Betty constantly battled over tennis matches. She recalls that he never gave an inch. He never let her win, but she came close a few times.

Mike and Sheron spent many happy hours enjoying their grandchildren; he was proud of them and talked about them often. Mike was a Christian and his faith was in God. But more than anything he loved his family.

Mr. Wyatt is survived by his wife, Sheron, of the home; sister, Betty Holt of Durant, Oklahoma; son, Chad Wyatt of Upland, California; daughter, Celeste January and husband Richard of Dallas, Texas; granddaughters, Preslie Wyatt of California and Alexandra and Meagan January of Dallas, Texas; sisters- and brothers-in-law, Sondra and David Hughes, and Kelly and Tony Nelson of Durant, Oklahoma; nieces, Molly James, and Melanie Merideth and husband Duane of Durant, Oklahoma; nephews, Kevin Holt, Matt Holt, Shawn Hughes and wife Julie, Todd Hughes and wife Hallie, Brad Aycock and Jeff Aycock, all of Durant, Oklahoma; cousins, Gary Miller, Terry Miller, Donna Hougston, Patsy Naifeh, David Hartwell and Leah Kay Miller.

Mr. Wyatt was preceded in death by his parents, Bennett and Irene Wyatt.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, July 2, 2012 at the Holmes-Coffey-Murray Chapel in Durant, Oklahoma with Rev. Kerry Groce officiating. Interment will follow at the Restland Cemetery in Silo, Oklahoma.

Serving as pallbearers will be Matt Holt, Bill Iker, Junior Taylor, Richard January, Gary Miller and Terry Miller. Honorary pallbearer will be John Herd.
