James Manning Sparks, of Durant passed away on Friday, July 6, 2012 at the age of 21. James was born February 6, 1991 in Dallas, TX to James Laurence Sparks and Sharon Gaylene McGuire. James graduated from Durant High School and was attending Southeastern Oklahoma State University. He received many awards for his academics, was a member of the Business Professionals of America and was on the National Honor Roll. He was baptized in Ada Oklahoma and was of the Baptist faith. James liked to run, hang out with friends, reading and playing basketball. James also worked in manager positions at many different fast food chains.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents William Manning Sparks and Nellie Ruth Sparks and an Aunt Joyce Berthold.
James is survived by his father James Laurence Sparks and wife Lisa of Ada, mother Sharon G. Pope of Achille, grandmother Rosetta Dunn of Durant, two sisters Amber Ferrantino of Durant, Jamie Lynn Sparks of Ardmore, one brother Nathan Sparks of Bennington, grandfather Boyd McGuire and wife Lynda of Wapanucka and many other loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Memorial services will be held at 3:00 PM Thursday, July 12, 2012 at Western Meadows Baptist Church with Bro. Terrell Suggs officiating. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.brownsfuneralservice.com.
