The Colbert Lady Leopards ended the regular season on a high note Tuesday, topping Ector, Texas, 38-25.
Colbert added the game after having to drop another due to inclement weather, and it turned out to be a nice tune-up for the playoffs.
Colbert opened the contest with a 9-2 advantage in the first quarter and led 20-7 at the half. The game turned defensive for both squads in third quarter, but the Lady Leopards extended their lead to 27-11 before the final period.
The Lady Leopards (17-7) were led by Mercedes Jones with a game-high 13 points. Morgan Wright added nine with five by Tara Andrews. Miranda Reid and Dianne York each scored four, with Taylor Reeve rounding out the scoring with three.
