A Mannsville man was critically injured Friday after his motorcycle struck a dog on Highway 70 west of Mead, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said.
James Lone, 21, was riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle westbound in the fast lane at 11:09 p.m. when a dog entered the roadway. The cycle struck the dog which caused the cycle to roll over onto Lone, who was not wearing a helmet.
A medical helicopter landed at the scene and Lone was taken to Plano Medical Center, Plano, Texas. On Saturday, he was listed in critical condition with head, arm, leg, plus internal and external injuries, according to the patrol.
A domestic animal in the roadway was listed in Trooper B.J. Keeling’s report as the cause of the crash. The condition of the dog was not listed in the OHP report.
Trooper Robby Keeling, the Bryan County Sheriff’s Office, Bryan County EMS and the West Bryan County Fire Department assisted at the scene.
