Durant School Board holds meeting

Durant School Board met on Tuesday for its regular monthly meeting.

During this meeting the board approved one request for leave of absence, four resignations and the hire of four temporary employees.

The school board also approved several additions to the school system’s substitute teacher list.

Leave of absence was granted to Clinton Webb. Resignations received were from Billy Alright, Donald Stephens, Garrett Scott and Starla Price.

The board approved the hire of Crystal Thompson for Special Education Assistant at Durant High School. It also approved the hire of Kurt Currence as a Special Education teacher Assistant at Washington Irving Elementary.

Jana Huffman was approved for the position of Special Education Assistant at Northwest Heights and Gene Jackson was approved for the position of half-time route bus driver.

All positions are on temporary basis.
