County squads bounced from Colbert Region

COLBERT — Friday’s consolation games were not kind to local teams at the Class 2A Regional Tournament in Colbert. The season ended for all of Bryan County’s remaining squads. After the Wright City girls opened with a 41-17 win over Davis, Savanna eliminated the Colbert Leopards, 53-49. In the last two games, the Colbert Lady Leopards were bounced out, 26-24, by Tushka and the Silo Rebels were knocked off, 45-41 by Wright City.

Colbert trailed 16-8 after the first quarter, but outscored Savanna in each of the next two periods to cut the lead to 41-40 entering the fourth quarter.

Savanna was led by Landon Walker, who led all scorers with 19 points. Tyler Inmon was the only other Savanna player in double figures with 13 points.

Colbert, who finished the season at 12-15, was led by Jabrock Smith with 11 points. He was the only player in double figures for the Leopards. Caleb Hernandez added nine points, with eight from Damien White. Wesley Johnston contributed six, and Chase Love chipped in five. Quenten King (two) and Matt Washer (one) rounded out the scoring for the Leopards.

The Lady Leopards’ rally fell short in a defensive battle with Tushka. Colbert trailed 9-7 after the first quarter, and was outscored 7-5 in the second quarter. The Lady Leopards trailed by seven before outscoring Tushka, 8-3, in the final period.

Tushka’s Amanda Tomlinson led all scorers with 13 points. Colbert’s Morgan Wright was the only other player in double figures with 12 points. Mercedes Jones finished with five, and Tara Andrews added three. Miranda Reid and Dianne York rounded out the scoring with two each.

Colbert ended its season at 18-5.

Wright City 45,

Silo 41

After trailing 25-19 at the half, Silo outscored Wright City 15-3 to take over the lead in the third quarter. Wright City regained momentum and outscored Silo 17-7 in the final period. Wright City’s Barry Williams led all scorers with 18 points, and was joined in double figures by Logan Lindly with 10 points. Silo was led by Nathan Treadaway with 13. He was the only player in double digits for the Rebels.

Logan Oller added nine, while Trey Johnson finished with seven. Jacob Carter and Micah Moore added four each, with two each by Shawn Hendricks and Kale Palmer.
