LouAnna Sue Russell was born May 5, 1946 in Snow, Oklahoma to Rev. Abner and Alice Baker White and she went home to be with her Lord and Savior on September 10, 2012 in Durant, Oklahoma at the age of 66.
Sue married Vernon “Babe” Russell on June 6, 1964 and worked at the Choctaw Casino for 15 years. She loved her work and called the ones she worked for her kids. After retiring, she loved going out there and playing the machines and everyone would come by and give her a hug or a kiss on the cheek and she dearly loved every minute of it. She loved going to the car races in Ada where her son Ronnie raced with her family. She would yell and holler for other drivers even if Ronnie wasn’t on the track. Sue is survived by her husband Vernon “Babe” Russell of the home; daughter Kimberly Russell Wilson and husband Fred of McAlester, OK; son Ronnie Russell of Durant, OK; granddaughter Taylor Burroughs and fiancé Larry Burns of Durant, OK; sisters Pat Brown and husband Wayne of Hendrix, OK and Bertha Lewis of Durant, OK; brother Howard White and wife Anita of Roberta, OK and numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents Rev. Abner and Alice White; sisters Anna Mae Frazier, Norma Davault and Mildred June Aplin and brother Bill White.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, September 13, 2012 at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel. Bro. Kerry Groce will officiate. Interment will follow in Highland Cemetery with Darryl Russell, John Brown, Billie Russell, Larry Burns, Paul Davault and Bobby Ledford serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Gibson, Jasper Gibson, Phillip Aplin, Arman Azimi, Jay Garrett, Chris Eckland and Mike Brown.
