Josephine Steward Peebles passed away August 31, 2012. She was born in LeFlore County, February 11, 1919. Her parents were Mr. and Mrs. John Slaughter Steward of Bokoshe, Oklahoma.

Josephine married Tom M. Peebles shortly after WWII. Her husband’s business took them all over the world. They lived in South America, throughout the Middle East and Europe. They retired in Durant, Oklahoma in the 1980’s.

For over eight years Josephine has been under the constant and loving care of Bernadine Medler of Colbert, Oklahoma. Josephine’s family is so thankful to have been blessed with such an exceptionally loyal, loving and dedicated caregiver as “Berna”.

Josephine is survived by four nephews and nieces; Steve O. Beck of Durant, Oklahoma, John P. Beutelschies of Aurora, Colorado, Joan B. Serio of Venice, Florida and Ann B. Kurgas of Clearwater, Florida.

Graveside Services will be held at the Old Bokoshe Cemetery in Bokoshe, Oklahoma on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. With Rev. Dan McLemore officiating.
