Sturch Family Clinic welcomes new doctor

An Open House for Dr. Monica Woodall, DO, and Sturch Family Clinic was held on Tuesday. The Open House lasted from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The Open House and Ribbon Cutting was held in order to introduce Doctor Monica Woodall, D.O. to the Sturch Family Clinic and the Durant Area Chamber of Commerce.

Woodall was born in Oklahoma City. She received her Associate of Science with honors in Pre-Medicine from Oklahoma City Community College.

Woodall studied congestive heart failure while working at the University of Oklahoma during her time attending college in Oklahoma.

Woodall went on to receive her Bachelor of Science, Summa Cum Laude from Texas A&M University. She completed her education at Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Woodall and moved to the Durant area to be close to her family. Her father grew up in the area. Her parents moved to Mead when they retired.

During her time as an intern, Woodall called Dr. Sturch several times regarding his patients that she saw at the Emergency Room.

During this time Dr. Sturch and Woodall got to know each other. Woodall said Sturch got to know what kind of doctor she was and recruited her.

“It’s been a huge blessing” said Woodall, who admitted that she did not know at the time what she was going to do after residency.

Dr. Woodall said she tries to be part of the community. She is on the board for New Life house, a sober living house for women in the area. She is also a member of the Great Physicians Pharmacy and Medical Clinic.

Dr. Woodall has been seeing patients at the Sturch Family Clinic since July and said that they waited to do the ribbon cutting ceremony to get things in order.

Dr. Woodall said that she has been very busy since starting at the clinic. She is taking walk-in patients. Office hours are Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
