Chemical spill stops up traffic on Highway 70 west of Durant

A spill of some type of chemical just before 8 p.m. Tuesday evening on Highway 70 at Silo Road west of Durant blocked traffic while firefighters and emergency management were dispatched to the scene.
The highway was blocked while firefighters soaked up the spill and law enforcement assisted with traffic control. Authorities cleared the roadway and opened it up for traffic at 8:42 p.m.
