Services to celebrate Linda’s life will be held at 1:00pm Saturday in Waldo Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry Flenniken and Tommy Sutherland officiating. She will be laid to rest in West Hill Cemetery with Mike Meek, Carl “Dink” Meek, Robert Croker, Robert Winters, Keaton Croker, and Tyler Croker serving as casket bearers. Honorary casket bearers will be Seth Fralicks and Robert Feist.
Linda was born to Jewell Stanley Nichols and Laura Lucille (Powell) Nichols on October 11, 1948 in Dallas, Texas and passed from this life on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 in her home at the age of 63. Linda grew up in west Dallas. She married Carl “Butch” Meek on March 31, 1972 in Dallas and were united over forty years. In 1985, they opened their own business, Butch’s Transmission, which she worked many hours doing the tasks as a bookkeeper. Linda was very involved with their children and grandchildren helping with activities at home or school. She enjoyed singing karaoke, planting flowers, baking cakes and cooking. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, son Ricky Lynn Smith, 3 brothers, and 2 sisters.
She is survived by her loving family; husband, “Butch” of Sherman, son, Mike Meek and his wife Jennifer of Denison, daughter, Susan Croker and her husband Robert of Clarksville, TN, son, Carl “Dink” Meek and his wife Courtney of Sherman, daughter, Summer Winters and her husband Robert of Sherman, son, Keaton Croker of Sherman, daughter, Carlie Meek of Sherman, and Peaches Meek of Sherman; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; brothers, Perry Nichols of Bells, and J.L. Nichols of Sherman, sister, Bobby Smith of Dallas; and other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7-9pm at the funeral home.
