The Bryan Conservation District held its annual Speech Contest on September 25, 2012 at the Kiamichi Technology Center in Durant. Elaina Jackson took first place and Ryan Perry took second place in the Division II contest. Tucker Jackson took first place and Clay Shires took second place in the Division I contest.
Elaina was award a $1200 scholarship and Ryan a $600 scholarship from SOSU for the 2013-2014 school year.
These four contestants will compete in the Oklahoma Association of Conservation Districts (OACD) Area V Speech Contest that will be held in Wilburton on November 15, 2012. First and second place winners of the Area V Contest will go on to compete in the OACD State Contest in Oklahoma City during the month of February 2013.
