Southeastern qualified two athletes in three events for the short go on Saturday night, but unfortunately was unable to take home and event title at the Southeastern Stampede hosted at the Durant Round-up Club Arena.

Ari Anna Flynn advanced in both the breakaway roping and the barrel racing, while Cooper Ratliff made the finals in the tie down roping.

Ratliff qualified with an 11.0 second run during Friday’s slack round and nearly advanced in the team roping with team mate Colby Norman before getting bumped on Saturday morning.

He was first up on Saturday night and turned in an 11.8 as the second cowboy to rope which would place him fifth in the round and fifth in the average.

Flynn’s first outing on Saturday night was in the breakaway roping where she qualified in a tie for sixth after stopping the clock with a 3.3 in the long go.

Unfortunately she would miss her calf and have to settle for a no time.

Her luck would not get much better in the barrels later that night.

She started the day off well with a long-go-best 17.04 to lead heading into the short-go, but after hitting the first two barrels she eased up on her horse and time out over 40 seconds which would drop her to the bottom of the round and the average.

The Savage Storm will load up and hit the road again Oct. 12-14 when it heads to Pratt, Kan., for the Pratt CC Rodeo.
