Golden elected sheriff, Roberts reelected as state representative

Ken Golden won the election for Bryan County Sheriff by 52.72 percent, according to election returns compiled Tuesday evening.

Golden, who is the current Bryan County undersheriff, defeated John Wyatt, receiving 6,903 votes, while Wyatt carried 6,190.

Incumbent State Representative Dustin Roberts, a Republican, defeated Democratic challenger Jerry Tomlinson by 63.97 percent, receiving 7,307 votes, compared to 4,115 for Tomlinson.

Incumbent Bryan County Clerk Tammy Reynolds, a Democrat, defeated Republican Glenn Russell by 61.63 percent, receiving 8,027 votes, while Russell received 4,998 votes.
