SE Men’s Tennis ranked No. 47 by ITA

Men:
DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern men’s tennis will open the 2013 championship portion of their season ranked No. 47 by the ITA in its preseason rankings. The Savage Storm make the jump into the polls following its performance at the ITA Central Regional tournament in the fall that saw three SE players advance out of the opening round, including a quarterfinal appearance by Luka Radulovic.

The team is also bolstered in the rankings by its doubles teams, as all three teams posted wins in first round matches at the regional, while two squads reached the quarter finals.

The Storm earn a No. 5 ranking regionally in the preseason poll by the ITA.

Radulovic leads that charge as an individual, earning a No. 8 ranking in the Central region.

Radulovic and Martin Bedcarratz are the No. 9 ranked doubles team regionally.

Armstrong Atlantic leads the national ranking, while Northwest Missouri State heads the Central region poll.

Ouachita Baptist is the only Great American Conference school in front of SE in either ranking, holding a a No. 39 ranking nationally and a No. 3 regional rank.

Southeastern holds a one-spot lead on East Central in both polls. Women: DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern women’s tennis will head into the 2013 championship segment of the season ranked No. 10 in the Central Region preseason poll.

The Savage Storm had a pair of players play in the ITA Central Regional during the fall in Andreea Georgescu and Sabina Mardarenko.

The duo picked up a win as a doubles pair, but each fell in the opening round of the tournament in singles play.

The Savage Storm are the third-highest ranked Great American Conference school in the regional poll as league newcomer Southern Nazarene is ranked second and East Central is ranked No. 6.

Southwest Baptist leads the regional poll.
