A man was flown to the Medical Center of Plano Tuesday afternoon when his truck ran off of the Denison Dam and into the rocks below, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said.

Aristides Sanchez Hernandez, 50, of Sherman, Texas, was driving southbound on SH91 over the Denison Dam when he swerved to the right.

Hernandez drove through the guardrail and down the rocks.

When the truck landed at the bottom of the dam it was struck by a large rock causing the truck to flip and land upside down on the service road, according to the patrol.

Hernandez was pinned for approximately 15 minutes before being rescued by Colbert Fire and Rescue and Colbert Police

Hernandez was listed in critical condition with multiple injuries, the patrol said.

According to Trooper Mike Green’s report, Hernandez was wearing a seat belt.

In other crashes, Durant firefighters and police responded to an accident at 3:47 p.m. Tuesday in the northbound lanes of Highway 69/75 north of the flyover. Firefighters assisted EMS with placing the victims in an ambulance to be taken to the hospital. The crash happened when one vehicle rear ended another.

Authorities also investigated a crash Tuesday at Midway Road and Highway 70 in Bennington involving a car and a semi truck. The driver of the car was taken by Bryan County EMS to the Medical Center of Southeastern Oklahoma. Bennington Police, Bennington Volunteer Fire Department, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol and Bokchito EMS were among agencies who responded.
