OWENSBORO, Ky— - Savage Storm men’s basketball continues its holiday road trip with a pair of games at the Glenn Young Invitational, hosted by Kentucky Wesleyan University.

Southeastern takes its 4-0 record up against the Shaw Bears (2-2) at 8 p.m. tonight. Shaw started its season similar to SOSU, taking on a big Division I school in exhibition action.

Shaw is located in Raleigh, N.C., so they got the season tipped off against the Tar Heels of UNC. North Carolina won the game 81-54. Similarly, Southeastern lost a pair of exhibition games to BYU and UTEP.

It has been uphill since for both teams. The Savage Storm average 86 points per game, with five active players averaging in double figures in scoring. Steven Kohli is the active team leader with 16.5 points per game.

Shaw scores an average of 64.5 points per game, led by senior Karron Johnson’s 23 points per game.

The winner of Friday’s game will play the winner between host Kentucky Wesleyan and Concordia at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. The losers will square off at 5:30 p.m.

Besides a four-team tournament title, Southeastern also has perfection at stake: It is one of four undefeated teams atop the Great American Conference, with the GAC opener less than a week away at HSU. All of them will be looking for some respect when the new Division II top 25 poll comes out soon.
