Three fires were reported Sunday and Monday. One fire early Monday morning damaged a shed and two storage buildings.
The fire is believed to have started at 1310 N. Seventh Ave. in a small shed, according to a Durant Fire Department report. When responders arrived, the shed was engulfed in flames.
The fire had also spread to a small metal storage building and a wooden construction storage building located at 1302 N. Seventh.
According to reports from the Durant Fire Department, the wind direction at the time was from the south blowing at approximately 10 to 15 miles per hour.
This blew the heat away from the building however the fire still caused significant damage to all three structures.
Other fires reported took place on Sunday. Two separate fires were reported in vacant lots, one located at 415 S.E. Second Ave. and another at 122 E. Georgia St.
Both fires were quickly extinguished and no damage was caused.
