A house caught fire in Caddo at approximately 3 a.m. this morning.

When Caddo and Bokchito Fire Departments arrived at the scene, the house, located at 207 S. Arkansas St., was completely engulfed, said Eddy Irving.

One man, Steve Pennington, was home at the time. When the fire woke Pennington, he went to a neighbor’s house to call the fire department.

Pennington’s brother Brad Pennington owns the residence however, he and his wife and child were not home at the time of the fire.

Irving said a cause has not yet been determined. The fire is being investigated by the fire marshal to determine the cause.

“We are just lucky nobody was hurt,” said Irving.

Irving said that the home was a total loss.

Respondents to the fire included Caddo Fire Department, Bokchito Fire Department and Bryan County EMS.
