Contracts awarded for road improvements in county

OKLAHOMA CITY – Two contracts were awarded this month for road improvements in Bryan County, Sen. Josh Brecheen and Rep. Dustin Roberts recently announced.

According to the Oklahoma Department of Transportation, the first project will involve widening and resurfacing nearly a mile of US-69B beginning nearly two miles south of US-70 extending north. The State Transportation Commission awarded just over a $1.13 million contract on the project to The Cummins Construction Co., Inc. The Enid company was the lowest of three bidders for the job.

The second project will involve the construction of an exit ramp from southbound US-69 to University Boulevard in Durant. The State Transportation Commission awarded just over a $1.19 million contract on the project to Glover & Associates, Inc. The Muskogee company was the lowest of four bidders for the job.

Once construction begins, both projects should be completed within five months.
