Sandra Jan Higgins
Sandra Jan Higgins, 71, of Durant, Oklahoma passed away Wednesday afternoon December 19, 2012 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas. She was born March 5, 1941 in Achille, Oklahoma to Lester and Grace Singletary Solomon.
She attended Achille, Oklahoma Schools and had worked at her Sisters Family’s business Wright’s Drive Inn in Durant, City Drug in Durant and Diaper Jeans in Denison and was most of all a Homemaker.
She married Clarence Lee “J.R.” Higgins October 23, 1989 in Durant and he preceded her in death June 12, 2008. She was a Member of the Kemp Baptist Church and she loved her Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren dearly. She had lived in Colbert, Calera and Achille all her life before moving to Durant 3 years ago.
She was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, Sister Laura Wright and Brother Sonny Solomon.
Surviving is Three Daughters Kimberly Pruitt of Colbert, Toni Duran and husband Eugene of Aurora, Colorado and Karla Bridges and husband David of Platter. One Son Jeffrey Cassell and wife Kathy of Rice Lake, Wisconsin. Brother Larry Solomon and wife Katherine of Broken Bow. Twelve Grandchildren Justin Pruitt, Traci Crosley, Terri Crosley, Tommy and wife Kim Crosley, Nicholas Duran, Tyler Bridges, Clinton Bridges, Brandon Bridges, Mason Cassell, Kaley Shaver, Kendra Cassell and Jeffrey Cassell, Jr. Seven Great Grand-Children Eliot Crosley, Shelby Micael, Noah Norton, Audrey Bridges, Kylie Bridges, Lucie Shaver and Chloe Crosley. Numerous Nieces and Nephews and Cousins and many friends also survive.
Funeral Services for Sandra Jan Higgins will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday Morning December 22, 2012 at Cunningham Funeral Chapel in Colbert with Pastor Roger Speers officiating. Burial will follow in the Rosewood Cemetery in Achille. Grandsons will serve as Pallbearers.
