An 18-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the shooting death of another young man in the Butcher Pen area of Kenefic in Johnston County, The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation said.

According to the OSBI, Sergei Hyde, 24, was shot multiple times inside a 471 Perry Drive home on Friday night.

Hyde went to the home that evening and was shot and killed a few minuted later, the OSBI said.

Shelby Hicks, 18, was arrested for suspicion a first-degree murder in Hyde’s death.

Authorities said Hicks was also a guest at the home and that both men are from the area.

Hicks was booked into the Johnston County Jail. The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office requested OSBI assistance in investigating the case. An investigation into a motive is ongoing.
