Mrs. Lona James, 94 went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, December 28, 2012 at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City. She was born March 1, 1918 at Daisy, OK to James Robert and Emily Jane McDonald.

Mrs. James was the youngest of 13 siblings. She grew up in the Durant area and married Clem James on December 26, 1934. They made their home in California and the Durant area. She was a beautician and worked in retail sales. She made her home in Calera for many years before moving to Mustang to be near her daughter. She was a member of Chisholm Heights Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband and son, Wayne James and seven brothers and five sisters. Her survivors include her daughter, Loreta West and husband Bill of Mustang, one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Mary James of Calera, five grandchildren, David West, Gail West and Alan West, all of the Oklahoma City area, Debra Dixon of Okemah, Gary James of Calera, eight great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 1:00 pm Thursday, January 3rd at First Baptist Church, Calera, where she was a long time member. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Calera Baptist Church.
