Durant Independent School District has announced its 2013 Teacher of the year. The award goes to Mara Richards.
Richards is physical science teacher at Durant Middle School. Richards received gifts from school sponsors to congratulate her accomplishment.
She received a $500 gift card from Walmart, a $750 check from Sodexo Inc., $1,000 from Dr. Pepper and a bouquet of roses from Bradley Flowers and gifts.
