Jewel J. Talley a resident of Mead, Oklahoma passed from this life in Calera, Oklahoma on Sunday, January 20, 2013 at the age of 88 years 2 months and 14 days. She was born in Garvin, Oklahoma to Ruben N. and Myrtle (Head) House on Thursday, November 6, 1924. Jewel married Alton Talley in Silo, Oklahoma on Wednesday, November 24, 1942.

Jewel was a faithful member of the Church of Christ in Mead, Oklahoma for many years. She was a member of the Elks Lodge and enjoyed going dancing. Jewel took pleasure from reading, bird watching and especially watching the deer that came into her yard. She was a rare person who considered her life to be a gift and made each day a celebration of that life.

Mrs. Talley is survived by her sons, Michael A.Talley and wife Georgia D. of Silo, Oklahoma and Eddie K. Talley and wife Sue of Silo, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Sarah J. Matto and husband Brent of Wolfe City, Texas, Barrydon Talley of Plano, Texas, Matt Chance Talley and wife Jennifer of Jay, Oklahoma and Marqeaux Talley of Ada, Oklahoma; great-grandchildren, Luke, Sean, Jacob, Emily, Cheyenne, Joshua, Memphis, Jacob and Tyler; brother, Jesse Lee House and wife Ava of Little City, Oklahoma and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Talley was preceded in death by her parents, Ruben and Myrtle House; husband, Alton Talley; brothers, Robert and Pete House; sister, Ola Mae Crocker.

Family Hour will be on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 from 7-8:00 PM at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma. A Funeral Service in her honor will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, January 24, 2013 at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Chapel with Rev. Travis D. Huffman officiating. Interment will follow at Silo Cemetery.
